Collision Repair
Oklahoma Sunroof specializes in minor collision repair on most vehicles and heavy rear
damage, including total losses, on medium size and smaller vehicles. We do not charge for
collision estimates. We will work with your insurance company or provide all of your repair
options directly to you. Call us if you have questions about the repair process.
Some vehicles are damaged beyond economical repair, and are referred to as 'total losses'.
Oklahoma Sunroof specializes in repairing such extensive damage to the rear of medium size
and smaller unit-body vehicles ( vehicles which do not have a separate full frame like a
truck). Rather than replace all of the damaged individual parts on such vehicles(the repair
process on which an insurance estimate is based, and which results in a repair cost near the
value of the vehicle, or 'total loss'), we use the 'clip' type of repair, which simply cuts the
damaged portion of the vehicle off at the most efficient locations, rather than the factory
panel seams, and replaces it with the same portion from another vehicle.
This is a 1996 Dodge Neon Sedan. It was hit hard in the
left rear corner, so it is receiving a left quarter clip
repair. The welds on the clip are clearly visible in the top
two photos. The Neon is a good example of vehicles with
relatively simple body structures, which makes them the
most affordable to clip.
This is a 1999 Chevrolet Venture Extended minivan. It is
receiving a right rear corner clip, including the floor, but
excluding the roof. This is a good example of vehicles
more difficult to clip, due to the higher number of
sheetmetal panels in the body and their complex
assembly.
